You have to jump thru hoops to get all of your deposit back.We had a 2 yr contract for our son who's a student. As it neared completion we informed Comwave 19 days in advance of the renewal date that he was moving & we no longer required the service. I was told to "call back closer to the actual date", which I did, calling the day before expiry date. The client care rep proceeded to tell me that I should have called 30 days earlier, because company policy is 30 days notice. That's fine if that's company policy, tho it meant they got another month's payment out of me. As we had the modem & all periferals unhooked with the move I asked for the return address for this stuff, I was told that another rep would be calling me to give that. After playing phone tag for a few days we finally got together & again I asked for the return address, which I was told would now be e-mailed to me, & when it was received, I would receive my $50.00 rebate credited to my credit card in 7 days.18 days later I rec'd the return auth # and the address. I printed it off adding a check list of included parts& Xpressposted it back to them.14 days late still no deposit refund so I called them & was told only half the deposit would be refunded because of missing wire, to which I explained that they had better check the included check list, there were no missing parts! After hangging up I called them back to inquire exactly what individual parts were required to be returned, after retaining that info I explained the whole story again, this time the rep said he would look into it & email me, which he did, telling me that it's a $ 25.00 re-stocking charge which " was in place when I signed up." NOT that I was aware of, they have said all along that the $ 50.00 deposit would be refunded when all paraphinalia was returned in working order, ( not minus a re-stocking charge. )He went on to say I should take it up with their Customer Service which I did & got no where.I have twice run into this regressive posture before, & both times the companies were having financial problems & closed.
So folks, HANG ON TO YOUR MONEY, or roll the dice & take your chances!
