| WidgetBucks - Trend Watch - WidgetBucks.com Sony Ericsson P990i Review If you are looking for a cutting edge phone and don't mind a high price tag, the Sony Ericsson P990i is the perfect match for you. With a retail price of over one thousand dollars, the P990i is one of the most expensive cellphones in the world. However, it is packed with enough features to justify the cost. The Sony Ericsson P990i provides fast and easy access to the Internet and e-mail, along with the latest calling and messaging features. The phone uses Symbian OS 9.1, which is the latest version of the most popular smart phone operating system. Basic features include a business card scanner, calendar, alarm clock, calculator, sound recorder, to do list and notepad. The P990i also features a fully functional Internet browser and e-mail system. The browser supports HTML, xHTML and CSS web pages, while the e-mail system has a built-in client with all the major e-mail functions. These features are compatible with most wireless networks. The phone also boasts a cutting edge two megapixel digital camera with video. The camera offers a 5x digital zoom and auto focus, while the video capabilities allow you to communicate via video phone calls or messaging. You can also get in touch with friends through standard multimedia and SMS messaging with predictive text input. When you are not using your phone to work, you can enjoy the music player, FM radio and built in Java games. Although it is heavy on performance and features, the phone is relatively small in size. Measuring 4.4 x 2.2 x 1 inches and weighing 5.3, the P990i fits comfortably into a pocket or purse. Your information is displayed on a brilliant 240 x 320 pixel screen. The 990i has eighty MB of built-in memory, which can be expanded through the use of a Sony Duo Memory Stick. The phone connects to other devices through Bluetooth, infrared or USB. In performance tests, the 990i fared well, with a talk time of nine hours, and a standby higher time of four hundred hours. What do you think? Post your comments and opinions about this phone. | unlike the p910i the m600i comes with hardly any of the freebies...no belt case, no cleaning cloth, no software&application cd, not even a damn extra stylus...couldn't lay my hands on a single m2 card in the shops...horrible plasticish build quality...sound is not as good as the other se phones...no user defined equalizer setting...phones often freezes momentarily & then resumes the task...acquaintances wonder why i'm walking around with a calculator??? |

| WidgetBucks - Trend Watch - WidgetBucks.com hi all whilst i havent got the beast fully operational - what I have got going and playing with it - IT IS SENSATIONAL - unlike our friend with the 600 the 990i came with an application CD and spare stylus, a spare plate in case you want to remove the flip keyboard and a screw driver to do it with, 12 meg of programs on the Pro Stick Duo, 2 wrist straps 1 x black 1 x white, a neck strap, headphones and a desktop stand with more cables than I know what to do with. the camea is great, video calls are better than ever - whilst I have not had a smart phone before and I bought this unlocked and having a few probs setting up email and web - the Sony web works well and its quick very quick. It bonded with my headset seamlessly, and synced with the laptop instantly I added documents to go and I have a complete mobile office Overall I am happy now - cant wait till I get it fully operational cheers mike |
