The new Walkman fone - W950

this is the latest offering from SE adding to the existing range of walkman fones

the new W950 features a 4GB flash memory. it is 106 x 54 x 15 mm big and weighs 112 g. It runs on Symbian 9.1 OS and UIQ 3.0 platform.

The 4GB flash memory and a 2.6" QVGA display with 262K colors make the stylish Walkman phone very desirable for music lovers. The W950 supports multiple music file formats like MP3, m4a, AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+, WAV.

This UMTS device also has Bluetooth, Infrared and USB connectivity features.

all that is missing is a camera!!

The Sony Ericsson W950 will be available in Q3 2006.

yeah clash - I forgot to mention it in the spec list - this thing has a touch screen.

Very cool.... it's a smart move by Sony because they have already spent many years and many million of dollars to brand the "Walkman" name. I'm pretty sure almost everyone, including and specifically the older generation can relate to the "Walkman" brand from when they were young.

So for me, I think this is a clever strategy by Sony.

It looks better then the ipod moto rocker, which is a suprise. I'm sure in a few years mac will come out with a killer phone too. Till then this is a nice one.

i think se is messing up their smartphones. p990i has become a joke on forums & otherwise. it has made a laughing stock out of se kinda like se bit off more than it could chew...as in promising more than the phone could do without crashing often. everyone who has played with a prototype of the p990i has been cursing the phone. even bengalboy didn't seem much impressed with the p990i from his review. now se has two identical looking phones w950i & m600i. the m600i being the more sadder 1 of the 2 with it's ugly blackberryish keypad. surprisingly se has released the m600i before the w950i. the lack of a camera will definitely affect sales like it did with the nokia9300

Why do these companies leave your thirst never quenched???? Out of ALL no camera??? It seems like you made a great car with all features but just did not deliberately installed the steering wheel....

. They want give you everything you need in one phone because they will loose sales with upcoming models
