| WidgetBucks - Trend Watch - WidgetBucks.com A situation may arise where in u need to format your S60 phone to restore its normal functionality. This maybe because of a malicious software installed on your phone without your knowledge or any other reason. In this case you may loose all the data on the phone (C: drive of your phone) but you are left with the option of formatting only. So, it would be wise to do a backup of required files on the phone memory to your Memory Card (E: drive) before proceeding with the format. On a Series60 UI based smart phone, two key sequences will let you restore your phone to the factory settings. WARNING: Make sure your phone battery is full or atleast 75% before proceeding with the format. Or else, the phone may become unfunctional. Normal Reset - *#7780# This restores all the system files from the ROM (Z: drive). In this method user data like images, videos, songs etc. will not be lost). This reset method will not help in all the situations. Deep Reset - *#7370# This code completely wipes out the phone memory (C: drive) including all the user data and restores the system files from the ROM. This brings your phone back to the factory settings. Both these codes ask for the Phone Lock Code (12345 by default). By doing this, the data present on the memory card (E: drive) is not at all affected. Hope you liked this short guide.

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left. 2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card. 3. Switch-off your phone. 4. Press and hold 3 keys: Green dial key, * (star key) & no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone. Remember, do not let go all of the keys and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show! 5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your phone will be back to original factory setttings. This method can be used if you don't remember your phones security code.
