| WidgetBucks - Trend Watch - WidgetBucks.com O2 XDA Trion Review Even though the O2 XDA Trion is still relatively new to the market, it has picked up a nice following up to this point in time. The new O2 XDA Trion was released in May of 2006 among a lot of anticipation from people from all over the world. Before the O2 XDA Trion was even released there were a lot of people showing interest in what this phone would be able to do, and if it could compete with some of the more well established players in the field. Even though the jury is still out on the O2 XDA Trion, it is safe to say that it has turned some head early on. This bodes well for the overall staying power and appeal of the O2 XDA Trion. From the outside, the O2 XDA Trion does not appear to be anything special. But as you get closer there are a few things that set this unit apart from the competition. The most obvious one being the QWERTY keyboard that slides out from underneath the screen portion of the phone. This allows the O2 XDA Trion to be fully functional as far as typing and sending quick messages. The keyboard may not be the largest in the industry, but it is easy to use thanks to its well spaced buttons. This is perfect for sending text messages or short emails. It is safe to say that this feature is one that will carry the O2 XDA Trion for quite some time. Up to this point there has been some concern about whether or not the slide out keyboard will remain high in the reliability and durability departments. There have not been any complaints as of yet, but with a design such as this it is always something that should be taken into consideration. As far as the screen itself, the O2 XDA Trion really shines. But just looking at the O2 XDA Trion you would never be able to tell that it is equipped with a TFT touch screen. This is a great option that a lot of other units do not have. The touch screen feature makes it much easier to navigate the phone, and get to where you are going without delay. Early on, this is the one feature that is really drawing people to the O2 XDA Trion. It is so much easier to touch the screen when you want to navigate the options than to use small buttons. The choice to use a touch screen option on the O2 XDA Trion will turn out to be one of the best of the year in this industry. The actual screen itself has a 65K color display. In addition it has 240 by 320 pixels, and is 42 by 57mm in size. To take the appeal of the screen one step further, users also have the ability to write on the screen as well. The hand writing recognition of the O2 XDA Trion, along with the touch screen, makes this unit among the best in the industry when it comes to functionality. Of course the O2 XDA Trion is also equipped with camera and video options. The camera is two MP, and the pixels come out to 1600 by 1200. This is good enough to get pictures no matter what situation you are in. The camera features on the O2 XDA Trion may not be the best of the best, but they can cater to the majority of your needs. The O2 XDA Trion also packs a lot of memory into a relatively small package of 113 by 58 by 22mm. This unit has 64MB RAM, as well as well as 128 MB ROM. In addition to this the O2 XDA Trion has a miniSD slot where you can add more memory. The O2 XDA Trion runs off of a 400Mhz Samsung Processor. This does a great job in keeping the O2 XDA Trion up to speed no matter what programs you are running. And this is very important considering the fact that there is plenty that this unit can do. The O2 XDA Trion comes equipped with Windows Mobile 5.0 PocketPC. In addition, email and instant messaging programs are available as well. All of this is made possible by a Wi-Fi 802.11b/g wireless connection. When it comes down to it, the O2 XDA Trion is one of the best new offerings in this industry. It was greatly anticipated when it hit the market earlier this year, and this excitement has carried on for quite some time now. It is safe to say that as long as the O2 XDA Trion holds up in the reliability department that it will sell in large numbers. If you are looking for a unit that can do it all, the O2 XDA Trion is the way to go. Pros
