Ah I feel really foolish about this and I know it would be so easy to Google it, but i think i'd get a better sense of knowledge if i asked here. Could someone explain what bluetooth is to me. To what i think - it's a type of software; possibly one you have to pay for every month that goes on your phone? That's just a guess from what i think i might of read.

Alright well if anyone could clear that up for me it would be great. I'm posting it in the accessories section because i notice a lot of posts with the words bluetooth headset. Though if you feel it needs to be moved by all means feel free to.

ah so it allows other devices to talk to each other basically? So then why would you have to pay monthly for it. or don't you?

theres no monthly payment to use bluetooth. its totally handset dependant and has nothing to do with your operator. all you need is two bluetooth enabled phones.

Oh wow that's weird. I remember my friend once got a tom tom lol and i set it up and to be able to use all of its features i had to connect to his cell phone and i needed blue tooth to do that and i'm almost 100% positive that they wanted to charge for it. It was a nokia i believe.

Bluetooth is a free connecting device and is inbuilt into all recent phones. It allows two phones to connect to each other, in other words, send files to each other for free.

There are specific versions of bluetooth which allow faster transfer rates between phones when sending files, and there are peripherals that are used via bluetooth, such as head phones, earpieces and toys (e.g. car).

There is no monthly fee for bluetooth, right? You just buy it and then use the hardware to connect the phones, right?

Ok i found where i got confused, what i was reading was adding web access to your bluetooth which usually adds a monthly fee of about $20, but is also FREE to transfer to other devices.
