Id also looove to know what OS this thing runs. I have this phone and its pretty sweet, but without software a smartphone is just a phone. Incidentally this phone also goes under REX P990 (China Data Technology Ltd.) and that sucker runs windows (which means theres a windows ROM floating around somewhere for SONG as well? ) ![]()

So far no luck finding the Windows ROM I did however find a few diagnostic codes for the phone, and on the software side it seems to work well with any MIDP2 java app (ive been beaming over apps from getjar.com) It does indeed use mt6227, I was able to find a driver online and now it syncs up using PC sync (set it Com4 port)

No, file transfer and PC sync both work fine, but the amount of installable software is limited to Java (if it was windowze, pos, linux, or symbian the choice would be much larger) and I am still yet to find a Java Based bookreader I can live with.

I need some help...can you tell me where can i find the driver online for SONG A168...? I have installed the USB drivers and also the SKY phone PC sync.. I can read the phonebook and messages but can not install JAVA... do I need to install any other driver...?

WidgetBucks - Trend Watch - WidgetBucks.com Why do you need to install java, its already installed To install java applets, you can: 1) Send files (jar or jad) through usb cord (mass storage mode) and run them with "file manager" 2) Beam them over with bloetooth (i prefer to do this since i dont have to power off the phone this way) and then itll prompt yoyu whether you want to install the applet. Regardless of the way, once installed, the java apps go into "entertainment" section of the menu under "Fun and Games" ---> "Java" the applets have to be J2ME compatible (getjar.com has plenty but if anyone knows any other good midlet resources please do tell, especially if you find a decent J2ME bookreader )Hope this is helpful
