LG KG800 (Chocolate) Review

Even though the new LG KG800 is not a smart phone, it is still quite popular among buyers from one side of the world to the next. It appeared that if a phone was not loaded with features that nobody would want it, but the LG KG800 has definitely proven this wrong early on. And if you have never heard of the LG KG800 you probably know it by a different name; Chocolate. This phone has been all of the television for the last couple of months, and is really starting to sell well, particularly in the United States.

When it comes to good looks, the LG KG800 is about as good as it gets. It does not have too many colors, and is mostly black all over. This gives the phone a very stylish look that the consumer has fallen in love with early on. Even though the look of the LG KG800 has nothing to do with how well in performs, it should still be taken into consideration. After all, who wants to carry around a phone that does not look good? It is safe to say that you will never have to worry about this when it comes to the LG KG800.

The overall size of the LG KG800 is definitely a large selling point. In today’s day and age nobody wants to carry around a phone that is like a boat anchor. The most popular units are the ones that are small enough to be concealed without any problems, but still have all of the features that people have come to expect in a phone. The LG KG800 fits this mold by weighing in at a mere 83 grams. On top of this the dimensions of the LG KG800 are 95 by 48 by 15.2 mm. This makes the LG KG800 one of the smallest phones in the industry. But remember, this unit does more than look good and come in a small package.

The first thing that you will notice about the LG KG800 is its slide open design. In other words, in order to access the keypad you will need to slide the screen portion of the phone. This makes for a very small package when completely closed, but also a very easy to use unit when it is fully open. All in all the size of the LG KG800 is just right, and a lot of this has to do with the slide open feature.

One area of concern is that the LG KG800 will not be durable over time. Early on there are already complaints that the phone cannot withstand a lot of movement because of its design. In other words, the slide feature is not built properly and over time it may begin to become worn down. This is something that all LG KG800 users should keep an eye on. It will be interesting to see if this is just a myth, or if it will actually come true in the end.

The camera feature on the LG KG800 is top notch. Even though it only sports 1.3 mega pixels it still gets great shots no matter what you are after. Some people have noticed that their pictures have a slight blur, but all in all the LG KG800 gets the job done in this department.

And if you are interested in saving the pictures that you take you are in luck. The 128 MB or memory allows you to save up to 700 of your best pictures. Compared to other phones this is about as good as it gets.

Now for the main reason that the LG KG800 has become so popular; the music features that is offers. Even though the phone can only store about 40 high quality MP3’s, it has already proven itself to be a leader in this department. Not only can you listen to your favorite songs, but you can do so with great clarity. The quality of the music that you can listen to through your LG KG800 is among the best that you will find anywhere.

Finally, the LG KG800 has all of the basic features that you have come to expect from a cell phone. You have the ability to store hundreds of numbers, and also download ring tones. The basic features are not what make the LG KG800 one of the best phones going today. It is all of the extras that you get with this unit that make it worth the sticker price.

Overall, if you are in the market for a new cell phone, take a look at the LG KG800. You will not be disappointed with the results that you get.

Pros
  • The MP3 player that comes along with the LG KG800 is the best in the industry. It allows you to listen any song that you have access to with great clarity. It is safe to say that this option is one reason that the LG KG800 has become so popular.
  • The camera is not the best in the industry, but it is of high quality. With 1.3 mega pixels you have the ability to take a lot of high quality pictures.
  • With the LG KG800 you get plenty of memory. You can store up to 700 photos as well as 40 MP3’s. This allows you to store a lot of information on your phone.
  • The LG KG800 has a compact design that is easy to live with. No matter what you are doing the LG KG800 will never get in your way.
Cons
  • Many people are concerned with the design of the sliding feature. This may be a problem in the long run.
  • At times the camera takes blurry pictures. This is not too big of a problem, but can be an annoyance over time.
