2007 has been a huge year for Research in Motion (RIM) as they have unveiled three hot smartphones to the mobile market. The Blackberry has branched out from the industries well known e-mail device to the business mans/womans robust handheld. It has gained additional strength from the individual consumer market as well as the ideal candidate in a corporate setting.
Each of these new devices - the 8800 , 8830 and the 8300 Curve are packed with new multimedia and document oriented features that go well above and beyond the "old" Blackberry experience. If you have one of these smash hit phones, here are few tricks to maximize your productivity and save some time in the process.
- When playing a music track or video, the Mute key functions as Pause & Resume.
- You can rotate a phone by pressing R, zoom in and out by pressing I and O, and return to the original image view by pressing W.
- Bookmark a web page by pressing A in the browser.
- Navigate to the top or bottom of a web page by pressing T (for top) and B (for bottom).
- Use Alt+Trackball to cut, and Shift+Trackball to paste.
- Program a phone number into speed dial by pressing and holding the appropriate number for 3 seconds.
- When keying in an e-mail address, use the Space-bar and it will automatically enter an @ or period symbol without having to search for the symbol through the menu.
